Type Locality and Naming
By the village of Kichar, Shokhetau Mountains, N. Nuratau Range, R.R. Usmanov et al. in 1993 (Korsakov et al., 1993f.).
Synonym: Kichar Suite, Кичарская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Massive, less often layered organogenic limestones, locally dolomitized. Thickness more than 200 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Lower contact is tectonic.
Upper contact
Conformably overlies the Tulebay Fm [assumed that “underlies” was meant due to their relative ages]. Upper [assumed “Lower” was meant] contact is tectonic.
Regional extent
Northern Nuratau Range, Shokhetau Mountains. Stratotype in the area of the village of Kichar.
